Acrylics on satin cloth, for I wanted to have that shiny finish. Being a foodie, a peek in the Indian cuisine, spices and delicious food became a source of inspiration to paint. Pickles are the accompaniments of almost every Indian dishes. I wanted to capture the traditional way of preparing various types of pickles, which i represented by the use of mortar and pestle, the wok and Indian spices and ingredients. Its my very first work that was exposed at the University of Mauritius in the 2007.
